It is known that there is no airport on Isla Mujeres, but still, this incredible island receives thousands of tourists from all over the world each year, now you may be asking yourself how to get to Isla Mujeres, right? In this article we will tell you how to get from Cancun Airport to Isla Mujeres, keep reading!
Isla Mujeres is one of the favorite tourist destinations of all Mexico, some time ago this island was only a stop on a vacation journey but now it has become the principal plan. Also is easy to get to the island from Cancun International Airport. Remember that Isla Mujeres is an island so no matter how you choose to get there, you will have to take a Ferry, here we will tell you some options to get to some ferry station:
Once you arrive at Cancun Airport you will see that several car rental companies will adjust to your needs and budget. First, you have to think if you want to leave your car in Cancun (which is fine and secure even if you go for more than a day) or if you prefer to take it with you.
If you don’t mind leaving the car in Cancun, you have four options you can ahead to Three in the Hotel Zone which is in Playa Tortugas (Turtle Beach), El Embarcadero (The pier) and Playa Caracol (Seashell Beach), and the last one in Puerto Juarez which is the biggest ferry station. In these four stations, you will find secure parking and some store to buy something to eat or drink during your trip to the island.
On the other hand, if you prefer or feel the need to take the car with you to travel through the island let us tell you that it is also possible and here you have one option that is located in Punta Sam, right beside to Hotel Villa del Palmar, where you will find a ferry station from Ultramar Carga; a really big ferry used to transport cars and trucks to the island.
The prices for an average car goes from $200 to 300 Mexican pesos which are only for a one way trip for your car and the driver, if you are traveling with more people, they will have to buy their tickets separately.
At the airport you will find several options to choose, it doesn’t matter if you have a tight budget or not too much time.
For example, you can choose to take a taxi from the airport to one of the ferry stations of your preference; this is the best option if you don’t have too much time or want to arrive at Isla Mujeres as soon as possible and cost varies from $400 to $600 Mexican pesos, depending on the number of passengers.
Another option is to take a bus there, which will take you to the ADO which is the bus station in Cancun, located downtown, once you are there you can take a taxi (which will be way cheaper as the ones from the airport). Also, you can take a public bus or a van which will take you easily to Puerto Juarez.
